Medicinal Holiday Mocktails

Many of us are becoming conscious of how much alcohol we intake and intentionally trying to consume less; but celebrating the holidays with friends and family can make it challenging to stick to health goals.

I have created three medicinal mocktail recipes you can share with your loved ones this holiday season. Try them  as a substitute or a replacement for your normal holiday drink, to bring some medicinal mocktails into your drink rotation!

Wishing you a healthy new year!

Rosemary Cran & Ginger

Whether you are intentionally quitting alcohol or just reducing the amount of alcohol, supporting liver function should be a topic of interest. The liver is one of the main organs responsible for cleansing/detoxing our bodies; alcohol, along with other lifestyle factors cause damage to the liver and impair its ability to cleanse the body. The good news is that liver cells are able to repair themselves, and with herbs and fungi we can support and protect liver function. Drink this herbal mocktail rich in antioxidants and liver supporting phytochemicals daily for consistent liver support.

Recipe

1 Tbsp Rosemary Ginger Simple Syrup

1/2 tsp Nutrient Dense Pink Lemonade

Soda or Carbonated Water

Sprig of Rosemary

Make Rosemary Ginger Simple Syrup by adding 1 part sugar to 1 part water into a saucepan on medium heat. Add 1/2 part grated fresh ginger and 1/2 part chopped fresh rosemary. Bring to a boil, allow to simmer on low for 5 minutes with the lid on then set aside to cool. Store in an airtight container in the fridge, will last up to one month.

Add 1 Tbsp Rosemary Ginger Simple Syrup, 1/2tsp Nutrient Dense Pink Lemonade powder to half the total carbonated water. Blend with a whisk or electric frother. Add remaining carbonated water and Rosemary sprig.

Enter Refresher

Support positive mood with the Enter Refresher. Enter Serenity powder contains dopamine agonist Mucuna, so even though you aren’t indulging in the alcohol you are triggering the same receptors, activating the pleasurable reward centers of the brain. Drink Enter Refresher as an enjoyable mocktail or daily to support sobriety and help to mediate detoxing symptoms associated with depleted dopamine.

Recipe

1 tsp Enter Serenity powder

3 frozen pineapple chunks

3-5 slices cucumber

Soda or carbonated water

Mix 1 tsp of Enter Serenity powder into half the total volume of carbonated water. Blend with whisk or electric frother for best results. Add frozen pineapple chunks, cucumber slices, and remaining carbonated water.

Peppermint Immunity Cocoa

Fend off the colds and flus while visiting family and friends this season with the Peppermint Immunity Cocoa. Full of immune supporting botanicals and fungi, plus the addition of Peppermint means irritated throats are soothed, so you don’t have to skip events wondering if that cough is concerning or not.
